Bidcos Akhulia blames fatigue for slowed pace in FKF-PL

Bidco’s Akhulia blames fatigue for slowed pace in FKF-PL has acknowledged fatigue has started taking toll on his players, in the grueling Kenyan Premier League second round.

After exiting the FKF Cup in the semifinals, the Thika based team lost 1-0 to KPL league leaders KCB at home on Wednesday.

Noticing fatigue among his men, Akhulia has hinted at rotating his squad in upcoming fixtures to ensure everyone remains fresh to avoid losing crucial points as they seek to maintain in the top flight on their maiden season.

“We have to admit there was some element of fatigue because we have had a busy schedule, it’s not easy. However, against KCB we had our own chances which had we converted, the result would have been different.

“But, we will have to protect the players who have been involved heavily because we have depth in the team. We will shuffle the team to ensure everyone remains fresh. We know we will do better in the next fixture,” noted the coach.

Bidco are currently 12th, after 18 matches with 22 points while the bankers top the table with 39 points one ahead of second-placed Tusker FC.

Meanwhile, KCB assistant coach Geoffrey Oduor has hailed his charges for their performance that has seen them reclaim the top spot on the log, after sinking Bidco.

“It has not been an easy. We take each game at a time, it’s important to be humble, given that we lost in the Betway Cup; we have to remain focused in the remaining games and hopefully keep our top spot.

The bankers have accumulated 38 points in 19 games played thus far, now targeting to reap more in their next three matches against Mathare United, Kakamega Homeboyz and Vihiga United.

Bidco on the other side face Posta Rangers, Vihiga United and Kakamega Homeboyz respectively with the Anthony Akhulia charges in pole position of maintaining their top flight status after just one season.
