There are no major surprises as the national women football team head coach Richard Kanyi named a provisional squad of 31 players to report to camp on March 5 for the African Women Cup of Nations (Awcon) qualifier against Uganda.

Big shots Wendy Achieng of Spedag, Dorcas Shikobe (Oserian), Caroline Anyango (Spedag), Cheris Avilia (Spedag), Corazone Aquino (Vihiga Queens), Mwanahalima Adams (Mombasa Olympic), Neddy Atieno (Makolanders), Esse Akida (Spedag) and skipper Mary Kinuthia of Gaspo FC are all in the squad.

The team is scheduled to report to camp in Machakos on March 5 ahead of the two-legged qualifier, slated for between April 2, and April 10, 2018.

Should Starlets ease past Uganda, they will face Equatorial Guinea in a two-leg knockout tie that will determine who graces the continental showpiece.

Kenya made a maiden appearance at the tourney in 2016, in Cameroon, falling to Nigeria, Ghana and Mali in the Group Stages.
