Kenyan ladies team who are the zonal champions, led by coach Jack Ochieng trounced hosts Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Egypt in the qualifiers to book the Morocco slot.

The Kenyan squad 18 is pitching camp at Kenyatta University with daily regime at the Nyayo National Stadium.

At the same time  Ochieng said the team’s welfare is catered for ahead of the departure. On Tuesday, part of Kenya’s contingent to the Morocco games, athletics and volleyball teams were thrown out of their hotel along Thika road over unpaid hotel bills.

“The preparations are in top gear, we are polishing on the areas we need to improve as we await to depart,” he said.

“Everything is in good shape; we have not experienced any issues,” he added.

The 18 players at the camp have been drawn from clubs participating in the handball league which include Nairobi Water Queens, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) and Ulinzi.

Nairobi Water Queens captain Gladys Chilo who helped her team win the handball Super Cup in June, expressed her optimism saying they are ready to lift  Kenya’s flag high in Morocco.
