Shabana FC head coach Gilbert Selebwa has been suspended from taking part in all FKF organized Leagues and Competitions, pending submission of his case to the FKF Disciplinary Committee.

This follows an incident in their last match against Eldoret Youth played on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Eldoret Showgrounds.

“The match officials indicated in their match reports that Shabana FC head coach Mr. Gilbert Selebwa, in disputing an offside call made by the First Assistant Referee, attacked the Assistant Referee slapping him several times and later walked into the field of play and also attacked the Center Referee,” read part of the letter sent to Shabana Football Club, and signed by FKF General Secretary Robert Muthomi.

“Furthermore, it is indicated in the report that after the final whistle, Shabana FC Goalkeeper Trainer attacked the First Assistant Referee pulling him by the ear,”

“Therefore you are kindly requested to take note that both your head coach and the goalkeeper trainer are provisionally suspended from taking part in all FKF organized Leagues and Competitions until the submission of their cases to the FKF Disciplinary Committee,” continued the letter.

In the match, Eldoret Youth nicked a 1-0 win over Shabana, courtesy of a first-half strike by Joseph Oyugi, one the visiting team protested. Shabana will next face Bidco United at the Gusii Stadium.
