Blunt Bandari to sign striker in January transfer window

Dogged by a poor run of form that has seen them record a five-match winless streak, Bandari team manager Willis Oburu says the team will boost its strike force when the transfer window opens.

The Dockers succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Tusker at the Ruaraka grounds on Sunday, their fifth loss of the term to leave them at position 14 on the log with 9 points and Oburu insists luring a striker would be the solution.

“The coach has already identified some players but we can’t reveal them now as they still have a contract with their respective clubs,” said the former Kenya international.

Bandari who have gone five matches without are also short of goals with Obungu reiterating the bad spell to missed clear cut chances in the face of goal.

Injury to key man Yema Mwana has further added insult to injury.

The Dockers have not had good news of late with Abdallah Hassan, nursing a knock, missing the weekend defeat while  Danson Chetambe and captain Felly Mulumba also missed the fixture owing to illness.

Wycliffe Ochomo and new signing Patrick Mughendi  have both not scored a single goal since the start of the season.

“Yema is injured and still being assessed by our doctors while Abdallah and Nkata got some knocks, others are just sick and we hope to have them on our next fixture,”enthused Oburu.

Bandari host KPL moneybags Wazito FC this Friday at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa aiming to stem the losing tide.
