Bremner fires 68 to claim the lead at KCB Karen Masters with an eagle shot

The fight for KCB Karen Masters got headed today as 64 golfers battled for top honors. South African Merrick Bremner made a stunning comeback carding an impressive 4 under par 68 for a total gross of 202 to empathically silence the strong field of 64 golfers.

He sank two birdies in the front nine, followed by an eagle on the 15th hole before dropping a birdie shot on the 18th hole.

“My game plan went on very well, I am hoping to maintain the lead and grab the KCB Karen Masters blue jacket,”said Bremner.

His compatriot and playmate Day two leader Van Tonder dipped to joint fifth after shooting three under par 69 for a gross total of 204. Tonder sank two birdies on the second and third hole followed by another one on the 8th hole. The South African who led at the beginning of round 3 added two birdie puts in the back nine on the 15th and 18th hole.

KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Judith Sidi Odhiambo was impressed with the extra ordinary golf shots in today’s outing.

“The golfers are playing exemplarily and we are glad that what we envisioned as KCB  Group as we stage this event, has finally come true with the  2018 KCB Karen Masters”, said Judith.

Bremner is gunning for his sixth career Sunshine Tour victory goes into the last round tomorrow with a one shot lead ahead of compatriots Tyrone Ryan, Pieter Moolman and Michael Palmer.

The final round will tee off at 7:10 am tomorrow morning with Kenya’s Mohit Medirratta paired with Keelan Africa. Dismas Indiza will tee off at 9:12 am followed by Simon Ngige at 10:20.
