Broke FKF put on notice by Migne over salary

Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne has given Football Kenya Federation (FKF) until October 15 to settle salaries owed for the months of July, August and September.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa made the revelation on Friday as he addressed the financial crunch that has crippled Harambee Stars preparations for their 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier match against Ethiopia.

FKF has been unable to organise a residential camp for the national ahead of the international assignment owing to the biting financial circumstance with Mwendwa blaming the government for failing to chip in.

According to Mwendwa, the government has disbursed just KSh7.3 million of the KSh25 million they requisitioned for with the received amount only sufficient to cover for flights and player accommodations.

“There is a challenge of funding as on the beginning of the year the federation gave the government a budget of KSh889 million yet we have not received anything more than KSh100 million,” Mwendwa said.

Mwendwa added the federation has deficits for the previous match where Harambee Stars defeated Ghana 1-0 in Kasarani as well as their friendly win over Malawi as they managed to pay onbly half of the costs.
