Bullish Wanyama now eyes the EPL title with Spurs

Harambee Stars captain; Victor Wanyama, is dreaming of winning the Premier League title with his new club Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to Tottenham TV, Wanyama added joining the north London team was a no brainer as he expressed his joy for joining the English Premier League giants.

“It was easy for me to choose Spurs because I know how the manager believes in hard work and that’s why this team is always improving.

“My dream is to win the Premier League with Spurs and I’m also looking forward to playing in the Champions League. It’s a stage where every ambitious player wants to be and hopefully we can go far in the competition. Nothing is impossible, we just have to believe,” the Kenya captain added.

Wanyama, who turned 25 over the weekend, was reunited with Mauricio Pochettino who brought him to Southampton. He completed a five-year deal reported to cost 11 million pounds to complete his transfer from the Saints.

Pochettino has emphasized on the importance of having Wanyama in his team.

“I know Victor very well since I signed him from Celtic. He is a player who will improve our squad and help us in the next few years,” the Argentine boss told on his new catch.

“Victor knows the Premier League very well and his experience will be useful to us because he is very powerful and that’s what is needed in the position he plays,” Pochettino added.

The manager took the tough tackling midfielder to Southampton for the start of the 2013-14 campaign.

He played a key role as the Saints racked up finishes of eighth (2013-14), seventh (2014-15) and sixth (2015-16) in his three seasons at St Mary’s.

During that time he made 97 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
