Busy calendar for Kenya football referees

Sylvester Kirwa leads a set of Kenyan referees who will officiate this weekend’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match between Burundi and Niger in Bujumbura.

Sylvester a centre referee will be assisted by assistant referees Tony Kidiya,Joshua Achilla and fourth official (reserve referee) Israel Mpaima.

 

Peter Waweru, a centre referee, will attend a FIFA/CAF non-FIFA referee course in Cameroon, set for September 26-30.

At the same time, three Kenyan referees-Damaris Kimani, Caroline Wanjala and assistant referee Mary Njoroge will head to Cameroon for 5-day CAF Elite A Women’s.

The three will be among the 19 referees and 17 assistant referees picked by CAF to attend the course.

”The picking of Kenyan referees for CAF matches and courses is a reflection of the high standards of officiating in the country, said Football Kenya Federation (FKF) head of technical and training, Elly Mukolwe.
”Kenya is the only country that is sending three referees for the CAF Elite A Women,bulk have one each participants,” Mukolwe added.
