Being top of the group allows some arrogance from a confident coach, and that level of confidence is what Harambee Stars coach Bobby Willamson has exuded ahead of his last group B match against lowly Zanzibar Friday afternoon.

Bobby said he was happy with his team’s performance in the last match against Burundi in which the teams drew 1-1.

“They are happy with the result and came for a draw. They still have to go through Uganda and we have to play Zanzibar. Zanzibar will be a tough one for us though they lost 4-0 to Uganda. They had a man sent off early which gave Uganda the advantage,” said Williamson.

So Bobby has thrown everyone off guard with his game plan for the Zanzibar game. He will make a whooping nine changes to the starting line-up.

“We have to rest players. I have to rest some players because of fatigue and the heat as well. The weather has not been kind to us and we need ample recovery,” he added.

That means only two of these players will be in the starting line-up. Boniface Oluoch, Noah Abich, Omar Mbongi, David Ochieng’, David Owino, Collins Okoth, Anthony Akumu, Eric Johana, Michael Olunga, Jacob Keli and Clifton Miheso all started against Burundi.

David Okello, Harun Shakava Musa Mohammed, Christian Bwamy, Kevin Kimani, Jesse Were, Ali Abondo, Allan Wanga, Ian Otieno, Brian Birgen, Stephen Wakhanya,  Kevin Amwayi have not had ample game time and might be fielded against Zanzibar.
