Cecafa signs up marketing deal with Frontier

The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations on Monday announced the appointment of Frontiers Sport and Entertainment East Africa (Frontiers EA) as its exclusive sports marketing agency.

The body, which is an association of 12 football federations in East and Central Africa, has engaged the firm to drive increased revenue across both sponsorship and media rights.

“We are especially intrigued by their innovative and data led approach to sponsorship and broadcasting and believe it will deliver tremendous results for us over the next few years,” Cecafa secretary general, Nicholas Musonye said.

“In our opinion, Cecafa is the most vibrant regional football body in Africa and we are delighted to be working with them.

“The Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup and the Cecafa Club Cup are very important football events in East and Central Africa and allow sponsors to engage with multiple audiences, across the entire region, in a very unique and exciting way,” Aggrey Wabulwenyi, Frontiers General manager added.

The deal will cover the six events organised by the regional body including the Challenge and Club cups, Nile Basin Cup and junior championships

The Kenyan Premier League, Kenya Rugby Union and Athletics Kenya are other sport governing bodies in Frontiers portfolio.
