Centurion Shujaa face tough Paris test

The national rugby sevens team Shujaa face a tough Pool A at the final round of the HSBC World Series in Paris after hitting and surpassing their 100-point season target in London.

Shujaa claimed the Challenge Trophy on Sunday after outclassing Wales 33-19 in the final, picking eight points that took their tally 101 for the 2017/18 campaign.

The June 8-10 Paris leg will see Shujaa take on series leaders Fiji – who have all four of the previous rounds, along with third placed New Zealand and Samoa in Pool A.

South Africa who are hot on the heels of Fiji have been drawn to play Canada, Russia and Scotland.

Pool C sees Ireland fresh from their surprise bronze medal triumph in London take on Australia, Wales and Spain. In Pool D hosts France are drawn with England, Argentina and USA.

Shujaa will kick off their Paris tour on Saturday against New Zealand in pool A at 11.28 Am (EAT) in Stade Jean Boulin.

Their second pool match will be against current leaders Fiji at 2.46 pm the same day (which will be a repeat of the finals of the Vancouver and Hong Kong Sevens where Fiji were winners), before their group matches against Samoa at 7.52pm the same day.
