Chelsea in pole position to land Pedro signature

After weeks of speculation on his next destination, Barcelona forward Pedro looks set to sign for Premier League champions Chelsea in a deal worth £21.8 million (Sh3.5 billion)

The 28-year-old, who was reportedly close to signing for Manchester United, is believed to be in London to finalise terms on the transfer.

The World Cup winner, who will team up at Stamford Bridge with international colleague Cesc Fabregas, is expected to have a medical on Wednesday afternoon.

He will become the club’s second signing in less than a week after the addition of Ghanain left back Baba Raman for £21.7 million (Sh3.3 billion)

Pedro made 326 appearances for the Catalan club after his debut in 2008, scoring 99 goals.

British bookmakers had on Wednesday suspended betting on Spain forward Pedro signing for Chelsea from Barcelona after the Blues became favourites to land his signature.
