Chelsea need to sign Tom Cruise – Jose Mourinho

There could be hope for Chelsea after winning the first league match in four outing on Saturday, beating Norwich 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

A goal from Diego Costa brought reprieve to millions of Chelsea fans world-over with many hoping that it could be a turn-around from the disastrous season they have had so far.

But one person who is not very excited about the win is Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho who has said that he was not impressed by the way his team played, despite ‘escaping’ with three points.

Under normal circumstances, Mourinho would have attended the post-match presser in high spirits, boastful of his side’s show and humorous on his analysis of the match, or in most cases hit out at their opponents for ‘not playing football’.

But that was when they were top of the table and things looked up for them.

It is a different case now, and you would be forgiven for not guessing right, what Mourinho will say after Chelsea matches, especially after the dramatic 15-second interview he had several matches ago.

That is expected, though, since Chelsea is 15^th in the league with 14 points, 12 points adrift Arsenal who are fourth and 14 point off top placed Leicester.

On Saturday, Mourinho was a bit skeptical in his remarks saying while Chelsea has a chance of making it to the top four (a cut for Champions League football) defending the title would be a daunting task, noting that they would need Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise for that to happen.

“Fourth position for me is not an impossible mission but if you ask me about winning the title, I would say it is mission impossible,” Mourinho is quoted on BBC as saying.

“Maybe Tom Cruise can do it bit it’s complicated.”

Teams finishing in top four have recorded an average of 72 points in the past five seasons, and for Chelsea to reach that mark, they would need a further 58 point equivalent to 19 wins and a draw in the remaining 25 matches.

Whether that is mission (im)possible is open for debate, and their display on the pitch.
