Chelsea, Real agree KSh11billion Hazard fee
Real Madrid have agreed a deal in principle for Chelsea forward Eden Hazard worth KSh11.34 billion (£88m) plus significant add-ons according to reports.
It is understood Chelsea were demanding a fee in the region of KSh16.8b (£130m).
Hazard, who has one-year left on his Chelsea contract, said it was his wish to leave Stamford Bridge after scoring twice to beat Arsenal 4-1 in the the Europa League final.
“I think it is goodbye, but in football you never know,” the 28-year-old said after the final whistle in Baku.
The two clubs have been in discussions for a number of weeks with Hazard making it clear he would not be renewing terms.
Hazard is currently away on international duty with Belgium but with personal terms and a medical a formality he could be unveiled as a Real player as early as next week.
The Blues have already signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund with Hazard’s exit in mind while Callum Hudson-Odoi, who at one point was widely expected to follow his fellow winger out of the exit door, is set to commit his future to the club with a new lucrative long-term contract.
