China based winger Timbe expected in Stars camp today

China based winger Ayub Timbe is expected to join Harambe Stars camp this afternoon as the team ups its preparations for the international friendly match against Uganda Cranes.

By the end of Tuesday every player had already reported in the camp at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani except the China based winger who plies his trade with Beijing Reinhe.

Bandari’s Brian Otieno and Wazito’s Johnstone Omurwa have meanwhile been called up to take up the place of Joseph Okumu, who hasn’t settled yet in Sweden following his move to IF Elfsborg, and Bernard Ochieng who has been ruled out through injury.

Kenya’s head coach Francis Kimanzi has ruled out the probability of having midfielder Victor Wanyama and Johanna Omollo as well as Joseph Okumu saying it will be a good test for the new call ups.

“We have new players in the squad and it will be a good platform to try them against Cranes,” said Kimanzi.

Uganda Cranes under caretaker coach Abdallah Mubiru will be hitting camp tomorrow at the Startime Stadium before jetting out the same evening enroute Nairobi.

Mubiru has also mixed his squad which consists of the team which reached round of 16 of AFCON together with the local based stars who represent them in the CHAN qualifiers.

Ranked at 80 by Fifa , the Cranes are seen as the favourites in the tie  as Kenya are at position 107.The match is set to be played on Sunday at the MISC Kasarani, starting at 4 pm.
