Coach Ocholla backs Nakuru RFC to find form

Top Fry Nakuru RFC head coach Mitch Ocholla has backed his charges to find their footing in the Kenya Cup after running into some sort of a rough patch in the top flight.

Nakuru have just two wins in six outings this season and lost crucial points at home to Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC, dropping into seventh in the 12-team log.

“This is a competition and to loose or win is part of the game, it’s expected but we want to turn this around in the remaining rounds.

“I believe it’s a transitional year for us and we are building from zero. So far I am proud of my boys because they have maintained the synergy in our system and hopefully in the coming days we get to polish on our mistakes,” Ocholla said.

Nakuru next play hosts to relegation threatened Resolution Kisii RFC and the former Shujaa player was certain his boys will come out victorious against the side chasing for their first win of the season.

“They are a good side. I have seen them play and we should really work on our scrimmage and physicality if we have to win with a comfortable margin, but our tackling and attacking bit of it we just need to polish on that ahead of that game,” Ocholla said.

The tactician admitted he was saddened by the current go slow from the Kenya Rugby Referees Association and urged the Kenya Rugby Union to move swiftly in resolving the stalemate.

“It’s unfortunate what we are experiencing since the withdrawal of the main sponsors but I can only urge the relevant bodies to work on these issues.”
