Coach Odhiambo urges patience over Bandari transfers

Bandari head coach Ken Odhiambo has urged fans to remain calm amid the club’s inactivity in the transfer market, assuring that recruitment work is being ‘done behind the scenes’ to strengthen his side.

Odhiambo has however insisted he trusts the current squad can cope with his demands of and take the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) club back to its winning ways.

“The fans know me very well. I have been here for long and they know what I did and what I can do for them and for the team. We can only sign players who will make us even better. There’s work in progress and lets all have patience,” he said.

Odhiambo who was re-appointed earlier last month also hailed Johanna Mwita’s impact at the club since arriving in the January window.

Mwita has been on fine form for the Coastal based side, scoring goals for fun before the Covid-19 pandemic halted all sports activities in March.

Asked whether Mwita’s form will force Bandari not to sign a new forward Odhiambo said,” Football is not all about strikers, it’s a collective thing.Of course He’s really a good acquisition for us. I saw him in training when I came back and he’s a top lad. We have Yema, Wadri and Ochomo and then him-I think we have depth there.” He added

The young forward three goals in a span of seven days in March as he netted a brace at Kenyatta Stadium against KCB in Bandari’s 2-1 before his solo goal sank Kariobangi Sharks at Mbaraki and had voiced his aspiration to keep developing his bid to get more playing time amid tough competition from Yema Mwana and William Wadri.

The club will be looking for more additions especially at the back after Felly Mulumba left for Zimbabwean top side Platinum Fc.

The former captain is yet to get a replacement; However, Odhiambo insists He may be forced to promote their academy players if the right players will not be available.
