Coronavirus: Tanzania bans players from shaking hands before matches
Tanzania Football Federation has banned players from shaking hands before and after matches as a measure to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Wednesday, signed by the federation’s Communications Manager Clifford Mario Ndimo, the football body said that only sign language will be allowed before, during, and after matches.
The directive takes effect immediately with six matches lined up for this afternoon affected.
The directive from the Ministry of Health will also involve other affiliated members of the federation.
The deadly virus has become a world wide nightmare claiming over 3,000 lives with about 100,000 people infected.
