Covid-19 claims Edward Legei, four-time Kenya Open shooting champion

Edward Legei, a four-time winner of the Kenya Open Bisley Championships, is dead.

Legei who was last crowned the champion in 2013 while still at the Presidential Escort Unit (PEU), was taken ill on Friday last week, and was on Monday pronounced dead at the Nairobi Hospital.

Sources close to his family have told Citizen Digital doctors confirmed he was Covid-19 positive.

“He developed chest complications on Friday and he drove himself to the hospital all the way from Kiserian. Upon admission he tested positive. Yesterday (Monday), we got the report he is no more,” said the source.

The former Kenya Regimen fullbore captain had recently been transferred from Kitui where was serving as the Sub County Deputy Commander under the Kenya National Police Service (KNPS), to Nairobi.
