CS Amina backs Kipchoge to beat INEOS Challenge

Sports Cabinet Secretary ambassador Amina Mohammed today visited the World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge as he continues preparations for the historic sub two-hour run slated for next month.

Kipchoge will be attempting to be the first human to run a marathon race in less than two hours in the race dubbed ‘INEOS 1:59 challlenge’ set to be held in Vienna, Austria.

With less than a month remaining before the challenge, Mohammed visited Kipchoge today at his Global Communication training camp in Kaptagat to convey her best wishes to athlete as he finalise on his preparations.

“Kipchoge is one of the greatest marathon runners of all time, talented yet extraordinarily humble man at his training facility. I wish Eliud all the success as he attempts to beat his previous WR of 2:01 to a Sub2 of 1:59,” said Amina.

Amina further noted that Kipchoge is not only on a mission to break the barrier but is in on course to justifying that each and every dream is possible.

“Eliud is not running for fame but the future of human capability,a purpose higher than himself. He joins the list of my iconic inspirations of all time,” she added.

Amina’s visit comes barely a few days after Athletics Kenya top officials led by president Jackson Tuwei conveyed their well wishes message to Kipchoge on his mission to rewrite history.
