CS Wario meets DCI boss over Rio games fiasco

Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario has met the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, Muhoro Ndegwa, over the disgraceful mishaps that rocked Team Kenya camp during the just concluded Rio Olympics.

Wario met Ndegwa Wednesday morning at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road, Nairobi.

According to sources, Team Kenya Chief De Mission, Stephen Soi, will be grilled by police upon arrival from Rio.

The distribution of kits to Kenya’s Olympic Team has been put under scrutiny after Nike registered disappointment with the manner in which National Olympics Committee-Kenya (NOCK) officials handled the issue.

A letter addressed to NOCK Secretary General, Francis Paul, furious Nike executive officials sought an explanation from the committee, sparking outrage across social media platforms in Kenya.

NOCK officials have also been accused of accrediting a bloated list of ‘joy riders’ at the expense of coaches, some of whom were locked out of the Rio games.
