Dinamo fans stabbed in Naples ahead of UCL clash

Two supporters of Ukrainian club Dinamo Kiev have been treated for stab wounds following attacks by Napoli supporters ahead of the sides’ Champions League clash on Wednesday, said reports.

La Gazzetta dello Sport website said a 50-year-old and a younger Dinamo fan were in hospital after being ambushed by a small group of youths in separate incidents in the city.

The incidents occurred on Tuesday night only a few hundred metres from the city’s police headquarters.

The 50-year-old fan, wearing a scarf of the Ukrainian side, was stabbed several times on the leg after being surrounded and mocked by a group of younger men.

A younger Dinamo fan who was also stabbed has been released from hospital after treatment to superficial wounds, said the report.

Police are looking through video footage taken close to the scene of the crime in a bid to identify the attackers.
