Dismal start for champs Muhudu in Vihiga Games
Vihiga County Secondary Schools girls’ football champions Muhudu have made shocking start to their title defence after losing both their opening matches at this year’s edition at the Kaimosi Complex.
Muhudu suffered a 3-0 defeat in their opener with goals from Ganigi Sharon, Shanis Jendeka and Wilbroda Nekesa sealing an upset win Lusengeli Girls in at the Kaimosi Friends University College (KAFUCO).
The holders then lost 1-0 in their second match to further dim their hopes of retaining the County title with Elizabeth Simiti dispatching the winner St. Bakhitas from the spot.
Head coach Chrispinus Wanjala maintained all hope is not yet lost for Muhudu despite their dismal start.
“It’s not yet over; we played well especially in the second match. We have to come out strong in the remaining match,” Wanjala said.
In Girls’ Volleyball, holders Mudavadi Girls won their first two matches to keep their hopes of clinching a third straight title alive.
Mudavadi won 3-2 against Vokoli in their opener outclassing Ebusiloli by straight sets in their second match.
