Djokovic to play Cilic in Grand Slam quarters

Top seed and reigning Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic beat South African Kevin Anderson 6-7(6) 6-7(6) 6-1 6-4  and 7-5 on Tuesday to reach his 25th successive Grand Slam quarter finals.

The match, played over two days, saw the first day ending with two sets a piece with the day light fast fading.

The world number one lost the first two sets to the 14th-seeded Anderson before clawing back to level late Monday evening.

During the fifth set played on Tuesday, Anderson began strongly by serving several aces with Djokovic saving two break points in the fourth game holding serve for 2-2.

Anderson kept up the pressure by rattling through the next game without dropping a point though lost the game.

Djokovic will now face Croatia’s Marin Cilic in the quarter final.
