Dominant KCB expect tough test at Prinsloo Sevens

KCB RFC head coach Dennis Mwanja expects Prinsloo Sevens to offer a sterner test this coming weekend in Nakuru after his charges lifted Dala Sevens yesterday in Kisumu.

The Bankers top the National sevens circuit standings with 59 points three legs into the series and Mwanja believes that all teams will be on their case in Nakuru.

“As a team we expect tougher competition because all the teams are coming for us, so we can’t slacken we have to keep on working hard and correct the mistakes we did in Dala Sevens,” Mwanja charged.

Mwanja added that the series so far is unpredictable and there are no favorites in the series, his sentiments comes as his team now shift focus to the Prinsloo sevens where he will be hunting for a third maiden after winning the opener leg of Kakamega sevens and Dala Sevens yesterday.

“The tournament so far is very unpredictable since you don’t know who you’re facing next because every team is competing,” he added.

The former KCB player mentioned Mwamba RFC, Hameboyz, Oilers and Nakuru as their main challengers heading to Nakuru.

“It’s difficult to predict because in Kakamega we played Homeboyz in the finals of the first leg, Mwamba played against Oilers in the Kabeberi sevens finals which was the second leg and now we’ve played against Oilers again, so it’s hard to predict,” Mwanja explained.

In Kisumu, KCB scored six unconverted tries on their way to whitewashing Menengai Oilers 30-0 at the Mamboleo Stadium.

Mwamba Rfc are second in the log after collecting eight points in Kisumu where they won the Challenge Trophy while Top Fry Nakuru RFC comes in third and Menengai Oilers making it to fourth.
