Du Plessis says Kabras feeling playoff pressure

Kabras Sugar head coach Henley Du Plessis says all top six including his Kenya Cup topping side are under pressure to seal a playoff spot and they must continue winning ahead of their round Round 14 match against Impala Saracens.

Kabras overpowered Menengai Oilers 49-19 during their weekend Enterprise Cup clash and the South African believes they are in the right momentum for their away trip to the Impala Grounds.

“It’ll be tough for us, we can’t under estimate Impala because they’re a good team and also have a good coach. So we’ll prepare well to ensure that we collect all the points over the weekend to enable us to maintain the lead.

“For us, it’s just to execute our game plan and ensure we get a home playoff semi-final and final in the remaining weeks towards the end of the season,” Du Plessis said.

Kabras will get a big boost with Dan Sikuta returning from injury which he got playing for Shujaa in the Cape Town Sevens last month.

“Dan is coming back from injury and we also rested some players over the weekend to allow other players to get playing time,” South African Du Plessis said.

Sikuta, Zimbabwean Royal Mwale, Ugandan Asuman Mugerwa, Geoffrey Nyambua, and Felix Ayange were all rested in the weekends duel.

The western-based side is at the top of the log with 60 points a point ahead of second-placed KCB.
