Debutants Ebwali have qualified for the soccer Under-19 semifinals of the 2019  KSSA national championships even after losing 3-0 in their final Pool B match against Dagoretti Boys.

The Western region champions qualified on four points after semifinal hopeful Mbooni Boys went down 2-0 to host Kisumu Day and Boarding to end cap their National games expedition with a point.

In other pool matches, St Anthony Kitale beat Central region champions Olbolsat while Shimba Hills trounced North Eastern kings Banisa 6-0 to bow out with their only scalp of the competition.

Following the culmination of the group stage games, Ebwali will take on St Anthony Kitale while Dagoretti Boys will have to overcome come-back kings Olbolsat if they are to content in this year’s finals on Saturday.

Ebwali head coach Francis Muhambe attributed the heavy defeat to errors by his players.

He, however, said they will right the wrongs as they eye a finals berth tomorrow.

“Our objective was to qualify for the semifinals and am happy we have been able to achieve that. now that we have confirmed our qualification, we have to plan on how to overcome our opponents in the semifinals.

Our opponents punished us for lapses in our defense, something that we will have to deal with before our next crucial game.” He said.

He has maintained they have what it takes to floor giants St Anthony as the eye the finals.

St Anthony is a very experienced side in the national games. But that is no guarantee that they will go to the finals unopposed.” He added.

He warned that they will play in the final to win it.

“We promise them a tough match, and we pray that we meet Dagoretti in the finals. They punished every mistake. We promise that if we meet them, we’ll punish them in the same way as they punished us.” He warned. Standings
