Equity eye KPA scalp in KBF play-off finals

Equity Bank have vowed to depose Kenya Ports Authority as Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women’s Premier League champions ahead of the weekend play-off finals at the African Nazarene University.

The venue will host games one and two of the best-of-five finals series where KPA’s male counterparts who are also the defending champions will take on Strathmore University Blades.

Equity coach David Maina, who turned out for KPA as a player and later as a tactician, said his players are ready for the match which had earlier been scheduled to be played last year.

“I expect a good game from my players considering we have no injury concerns. I have a lot of respect for KPA because I have a history with them but my focus is to win when we meet,” Maina said.

In other finals, Footprints be out to secure a first KBF women’s Division League crown when they face Masaku Sparks as Lakeside take on World Hope in the men’s Division One at the Kisumu Sports Ground.

In the men’s Division Two, KDF Morans will play their game three against EMYBA on Saturday at 10:00am (EAT) before playing their game three match on Sunday at 12 noon at the same venue.
