Ex-Bandari skipper Mulumba part ways with Platinum of Zimbabwe

Former Bandari FC captain Felly Mulumba has parted ways with Zimbabwe giants FC Platinum just nine months after joining the club.

The 30-year- old Congolese has only played one game for the club, coming on as a substitute since joining the outfit in February this year.

Mulumba joined the Zimbabwean side after a stellar five-year season at Bandari, captaining them in the Caf Confederations Cup.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mulumba said he is planning the next step in his football career.

“Yes, I have left Platinum and I will disclose where I will be heading next,” he explained.

The club also separately confirmed the parting of ways with the Congolese via a post on their official Facebook page.

“FC Platinum takes the opportunity to announce the departure of Felly Mulumba who leaves on mutual separation,” read the statement by the club chairman Smartfin Techu . “The club is grateful for his commitment and wishes him well in his future endeavors”.

But even before he parted ways with the club, eyebrows were already raised as he was spotted in Mombasa and Nairobi during the pandemic period playing in local friendlies.

On this, he said: “I was just in Kenya for holiday because it is a place I have lived in for long.”

Felly did not feature in any league game as the Zimbabwean league failed to get underway in March following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

He had earlier turned out for AS Saint Luc of the Democratic Republic of Congo, KPL side Posta Rangers, and Sofapaka before docking at Bandari.
