Ex-Stars captain Otieno out of hospital after Covid-19 scare

Former Harambee Stars skipper Musa Otieno has been discharged from the Kenyatta National Hospital where he had been undergoing treatment after testing positive for Covid-19.

Otieno was admitted two weeks ago but has now been discharged after recovery, his brother Barack Otieno confirmed to Citizen Digital on Wednesday.

“He’s already out of hospital, ” the elder Otieno said in a text message.

He went on: “He is now in a stable condition that’s what I can say as per now. Thanks to all the doctors at KNH, media houses and the public for the prayers.

Prior to illness, the retired defender had been at the forefront in distributing foodstuff to the vulnerable in Maringo , the area where he grew up through his Kick off to Hope organization

During his playing days, Otieno featured for AFC Leopards and Tusker FC in Kenya but moved to South Africa in 2011 where he featured for Santos FC in the South African Premier Soccer League.

He has been an assistant coach to Harambee Stars under Bobby Williamson and Stanley Okumbi.
