Ex-Stars, Tusker defender Gundi to be buried Wednesday
Former Harambee Stars defender the late Simon Gundi will be buried on Wednesday in his Rabai home according to his family.
Gundi who also starred for Kenya Breweries FC, the forerunner of Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker FC passed on last Wednesday at his Mtwapa home in Kilifi County after a short illness.
His body will leave the Pandya Hospital mortuary in Mombasa on Tuesday at 2pm for an overnight vigil at his Mtwapa home before being transported for burial the following day.
In his heyday, Gundi was a no nonsense stopper who enjoyed a successful spell with Stars under the tutelage of the late legendary coach, Jonathan Niva and Breweries.
The death of Gundi comes barely five months after another former Kenya stalwart, James Sianga passed on.
