Fatigue could blur Gors glamour Kerr

Gor Mahia head Coach Dylan Kerr now says the congested fixtures for his team will dilute their vigour, as the climax of the season beckons in various competitions.

Speaking after beating Kakamega Home Boyz in Kisumu on Monday in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match, the Briton said the KPL needs to wear Gor’s shoes and feel the pinch noting his charges are fatigued.

The Kenyan football giants  who are in contention for their 17th League gong now need to win only three matches out of the remaining nine  to seal a third title in a row.

In August only, Gor are playing a total of 10 matches including two Caf Confederations matches against Rwanda’s Rayon Sport in Nairobi on August 19 and away to USM Algers in Algiers, Algeria on August 29.

Kerr said the local football governing body should consider postponing some of their league matches to enable them prepare adequately for the continental assignments saying.

‘’We are tired. The fixtures need to be adjusted. I sympathize with my players. This is not fair, too many matches within a short span. How can they give their best in the CAF Cup with this fatigue? When it comes to flying a national flag the calling is higher,’’ observed the Coach.

After beating Kakamega Home Boyz, Gor will  host Chemelil Sugar on Thursday before facing off with Rayon Sport on at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

K’Ogalo with then rest for two days before playing away to Sofapaka on August 22.

The Kenyan  giants who have only lost one Premier league match to Bandari out of the 25 matches player, will face their traditional arc rivals AFC Leopards in their last Mashemeji derby this season on August 25 before jetting out to Algiers Algeria for their return group D match against USM Algers.

Gor Mahia lead group ‘D’ in the Caf Confederations standings with 8 points from 4 matches, same as their current runners up USM Algers who are dwarfed by a goal in difference. Rayon Sport of Rwanda sit third with Tanzanian giants Yanga trailing with only a point from 4 matches.

Two teams from each of the four pools will qualify for the quarter finals.
