Federico denied travel, detained until Monday

Top Athletics agent Federico Rosa will not travel to Rio de Janeiro on Thursday evening as he had planned after he was detained for three more days.

The court is expected to make a ruling on Monday whether he will be released on bail and if his travelling documents will be returned to him.

Federico who is a director of Rosa Associati through his lawyers tabled the traveling tickets saying that he is supposed to prepare for the Olympic Games and would be affected if he is not allowed to travel on Thursday.

He argues that he manages top athletes and his absence in Rio would impede their preparations.

He is seeking his passport to travel to the Monaco and London Diamond Leagues, Bogota Marathon and the Rio Games from July 14 to August 22.

Federico who was arraigned before Kibera Magistrate; Bernard Ochoi pleaded not guilty to six counts related to doping.

He was accused of conspiring with others to injure the reputations of Elijah Kiprono and Rita Jeptoo by administering the prohibited substances.

The Prosecution wanted the bond terms cancelled saying that he does not have permanent residence in the country and therefore, the Ksh300,000 police cash bail given earlier before he answered to the charges should be enhanced.
