FKF rolls out social media drive for local clubs

In an effort aimed at leveraging technology in the dissemination of football activities, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has rolled out a training programme aimed at equipping clubs with the necessary skills in Social Media Management.

The training, which is a joint venture between FKF and eMobilis Mobile Technology Institute kicked off on Tuesday with 10 clubs from the Kenyan Premier League, National Super League and the women Premier League taking part.

“The main aim of the training is to leverage the use of technology in highlighting football activities to the thousands of football stakeholders in and outside of the country,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.

The program which kicked off in Nairobi will be rolled out in other parts of the country in the coming weeks in an effort aimed at sensitizing more clubs on the same.

“We are happy to partner with FKF in what I believe is a major milestone in the football industry,” said eMobilis Senior office Manager Nancy Wanjira.

“We are already exploring ways of making it bigger and better by holding such trainings in other parts of the country, in a bid to sensitize more clubs,” added the eMobilis Official.

The first phase of the training which, is being held for free targeted KPL,NSL and WPL clubs and saw nearly ten clubs benefit from the same with KPL side Western Stima, NSL sides Zoo Kericho, Kariobangi Sharks, Nzoia Sugar, Palos F.C and Wazito all sending representatives.

Others who attended the one day workshop included WPL sides Soccer Queens, Soccer Sisters and Eldoret Falcons.
