FKF to hold coaching clinics in Machakos

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Machakos branch is planning to organise training courses for all grassroots coaches drawn from the County once the sports ban is lifted.

The Machakos FKF chairman Abdi Noor said they have laid down strategies to empower the local gaffers with basic knowledge aimed at bridging a gap in football management ahead of the football return in the country.

“We will use this period to put our house in order and ensure once the sports activities resume, we take our coaches through the basics. The idea is to ensure we up our standards of the game,” said the Noor.

Noor further said they will be seeking an audience with the county government for partnership.

“We will engage the county sports department and see where they can help,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kenya Football Coaches Association (Kefoca) has halted its coaching training activities in the Coastal region amid sports ban.

“We’ve stopped all the activities until when sports is given green light to resume but we will in the meantime organise to how the coaches who qualified in 2019 will get their certificates,” said Harub.

KEFOCA Coast branch chairman Yusuf Harub said they are planning to resume their activities when sporting activities resume in the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta banned sporting activities two weeks ago as he announced raft of measures as the coronavirus pandemic refuse to relinquish its grip on the country.
