Football fraternity mourns death of FKF official George Baraza
Kenya’s football fraternity has been left in mourning following the sudden demise of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Western Branch Secretary General George Baraza after a long battle with diabetes.
Baraza collapsed and died at his home in Shikoti, Kakamega County Tuesday evening, moments after arriving from a meeting that had been held in Kakamega town.
Baraza was re-elected the branch’s secretary general early this year, for the third consecutive year.
Prior to joining football management politics, Baraza played for various clubs in Kakamega including Blue Stars where he doubled up as coach in the 1990s.
His body has been taken to Kakamega County Hospital.
