For KCB RFC, its one match at a time

KCB RFC forwards coach Dennis ‘Iron man’ Mwanja says they are taking one game at a time after they returned to winning ways at the weekend.

The Bankers thumped Mwamba 29-17 at the Railways Club after suffering their first loss this season against table-toppers Kabras Sugar 19-6 a fortnight ago.

“It was a tough match which made us enter a little bit jittery considering losing our last match against Kabras Sugar and KCB being a team which is not used to losing we had to rediscover our winning ways,” said Mwanja.

The former Shujaa lock added that they got their footing right and settled in the game which contributed to their victory.

The Ruaraka based side sits second in the overall Kenya Cup standings with 30 points, four adrift of current leaders Kabras Sugar after match round seven and according to Mwanja they’re focusing on each match at a time and not finishing on a playoff position.

“For us, we’re just starting the season easy and after the Christmas holiday we’ll get back to business and hope to get our rhythm going,”said Mwanja.

“We’ve several game plans. By then we’ll have polished our grey areas and we will take each match at a time because we cannot start talking about the playoffs with first not attaining the remaining preliminary games,” he concluded.

KCB face Impala club this weekend at KCB Sports Club.
