Former Gor star Ouma cleared for FC Kolkheti

Kenyan international Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma is finally eligible to participate in competitive matches for his new club FC Kolkheti after receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) on Friday.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) issued the certificate to the local agent representing the former Gor Mahia defender before it was sent to the Georgian top flight side.

Ouma, one of last season’s Kenyan Premier League (KPL) breakout players, expressed his delight at the news as he prepares to make his debut for the club when they clash against Dinamo Tbilisi on Sunday.

“I’m happy that finally I’m available for the first game of the season; it’s what I have been yearning for and I’m sure with God’s grace I will make a mark.

“I first want to work hard and cement my position here then work hard to be the best hoping for more open doors. Everything is okay so far, I have adapted in terms of weather and food though not fully. I just pray for a good season here with my new team,” Ouma told Citizen Digital.

Ouma has already left a positive first impression at Kolkheti and with his new Coach, George Sanaia, having featured in several preseason friendly matches.

While the dynamic left-back has won over Sanaia’s heart, his compatriot Luis Misiko who has been on trials at the Georgian outfit has failed to impress the club’s technical bench and will have to return home in search of a new club.

He has been a loanee at KPL champions Tusker FC after failed stints in Europe, including French League One.
