Fuming Muyoti slams defenders, strikers for poor run of form
- Muyoti reckons they have to go back to the drawing board to right the wrongs.
- The win took Bandari to position six on the log with 12 points after three wins, three draws and two losses.
Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Nicholas Muyoti is blaming his defense and the striking departments for the 4-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Bandari at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday in Mombasa.
The defeat marked Homeboyz fourth defeat of the season, leaving them at position 14 on the league table with just 5 points from 7 matches and Muyoti reckons they have to go back to the drawing board to right the wrongs.
The Kakamega based club has one win so far (1-0 against Vihiga United), three losses (2-0 against KCB, 2-0 to Ulinzi, 1-0 to Tusker and 4-3 Bandari) and two draws (0-0 Nozia, 1-1 Posta Rangers).
And speaking to Citizen Digital, the head coach said they must go back to the drawing board.
“As a coach I am very disappointed by the results. We had every reason to win our last match against Bandari, I blame my defenders and strikers because despite many clear chances created they failed to utilize them,” explained the tactician.
He added: “We had a good chance of scoring more goals after Bandari’s William Wadri was red carded but again we didn’t capitalize on that. We have performed very badly compared to last season, we need to change our approach and that’s something I will work on. Our next fixture is against Bidco and I hope for a win to ease pressure on me and the entire ream,” he said.
His Bandari counterpart Andre Cassa Mbungo hailed his charges for the win.
“My boys’ did a wonderful job, what they need to do now is trying to avoid conceding many goals. We have a tough fixture coming against Kariobangi Sharks, AFC Leopards and Mathare. We need to put more effort into training so that we can secure enough points,” said Mbungo.
The win took Bandari to position six on the log with 12 points after three wins, three draws and two losses.
