Gaspo outclass Kisumu All Stars to go second in WPL

Gaspo Youth are up into second on the Kenyan Women Premier League (WPL) standings after thrashing Kisumu All Starlets 4-0 on Saturday.

Wincate Kaari led the demolition with a hat-trick with Kenyan international Corazone Acquino completing the rout with a strike of her own in the dying minutes.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Gaspo head coach Jackline Juma hailed her charges for the good job done.

“I am very happy for the win, this was really meant to happen due to enough preparations we had as a team. We are now in the second position and our aim is to clinch the title. What the ladies need is to continue fighting in every match and avoid conceding a lot of goals.”

For the win, Gaspo are now second in the log with 30 points same with Vihiga but they have less goals having played a match more than Gaspo.

In other results Oserian ladies registered a 1-1 draw in the hand of new comers Nyuki Starlets, Rebecca Akinyi scoring for Oserian while Lilian Mmboga restored for nyuki Starlets.

Six more matches will be played tomorrow As listed.
