Samuel Gathimba and Emily Ngii have won gold medals in the men and women’s 20km Walk Race respectively at the ongoing African Games in Rabat, Morocco.

Gathimba won the men’s race in 1:22:48 followed by Ethiopia’s Yohanis Wale who clocked 1:22:50 while another Kenyan Simon Wachira finished fourth in 1:24:50.

In the women’s event, Ngii won the race in 1:33:41 with Grace Njue settling for silver in 1:34:57 as Yehulaleyu Mitiku from Ethiopia came home third in 1:35:21.

The win adds Kenya’s gold medals to four and a total of nine medals so far.
