Germany’s Philip Mejow takes the lead at Kenya Open

Germany’s Philip Mejow has stormed to the top of the leader -board midway through the third round of the 2018 Kenya Open.

Mejow has finished an impressive round of 7-under par to take his overall score to 10-under par. The German finished the round without dropping a single shot, hitting a total of 6 birdies at hole 6, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 17.

The German is ahead of Swedish duo of Simon Forsstrom and 2016 Kenya Open winner Sebastian Soderbeg who are still out on the course.

The two have so far shot identical rounds of 2-under par, to take their overall scores to 9-under par; with Sebastian hitting birdies at the 4th and 9th holes and Simon hitting three birdies and a bogey at the 9th.

Overnight leader Max Schmitt has since fallen off the pace, currently holding a score of 2-over par to place him tied for 3rd place.

Kenyan duo of Riz Charania and Mohit Mediratta have so far struggled in round three, with Riz playing a round of 3-over par, to take his overall score to 3 over par. Mohit who is still out on the course is currently playing at 9-over par.

It has so far been an impressive day of Golf at the Muthaiga Golf club, with the round recording scores of of 8-under, the lowest this year, shot by South Africa’s Oliver Bekker (T7) and Oscar Lengden (T7).
