Get the credentials first, FKF warns rogue coaches
FKF’s technical educational officer David Ouma has warned that the national association will not allow coaches who lack the right credentials to train clubs.
Addressing the press at the ongoing 10-day basic coaching course at the Kakamega Multi-Purpose Centre in Rosterman where 26 coaches are getting their basic and advanced training, Ouma said that it was imperative for all coaches to acquire requisite skills.
“What we are doing is give all our coaches skills to manage football from the grassroots and we will not allow non-trained coaches to manage clubs,”Ouma warned, adding that, “after this training I want all trained coaches to register their under-13 and 15 clubs so that they can be recognized by the federation.”
Ouma, a former Harambee Starlets, Sofapaka and Posta Rangers coach said that the training which is to be conducted countrywide will improve football standards across the country.
