Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer Olivier Giroud and £42 million for Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain.

The player’s agent has talked up a deal by admitting his client would thrive at a club like Napoli. The team’s manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be on the look-out for a new striker after failing to land Jamie Vardy from Leicester during Euro 2016.

But Higuain has another offer on the table. The newest force in the market; Chinese Super League have offered him 50m euros to join their revolution. It is an offer the Argentinean rejected out of hand. But a part-exchange deal with Giroud is equally unfathomable.

Wenger is determined to secure the signature of a proven hitman after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title last season, with Giroud his only out-and-out forward available after Danny Welbeck suffered another long-term injury.

SPAIN

Arda Turan is ‘seemingly edging closer to the exit door’ at Barcelona.

Spanish newspaper Sport, revealed Premier League interest in the winger with the latest club to enquire about his services being Chelsea.

The Blues came close to signing the Turk before he swapped Atletico Madrid for the Nou Camp a year ago. The 29-year-old is keen to remain in Spain, but the lack of first-team opportunities with Barca could force him out.

Arsenal, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are other clubs also interested.

Real Madrid will not enter further talks with Chelsea or Arsenal over a potential transfer of Alvaro Morata, with the striker set to stay in Spain.
