Good Clifford Alwanga finds new home in Mathare United
Mathare United’s intense recruitment shows no sign of ending after they roped in former KCB and Tusker forward Clifford Alwanga.
Alwanga who had an injury-plagued season at Tusker, failing to cement a regular starting position, has joined the club on a two-year deal, the club announced on its social media platform.
His signing comes days after former Muhoroni Youth and AFC Leopards ace Samuel Ngung’u joined the club.
The 2008 league champions have intensified their hunt for marquee talents as they bid to reclaim a title that has been elusive for ten years.
“I am happy to be here because this is a chance to revive my career. I have worked with coach (Francis) Kimanzi before and I know what is expected of me,” Alwanga said the club’s Twitter handle
“My target is to get more playing time and score at least 15 goals. Hopefully, I will be a top contender for the top scorer award,” he added.
