Gor coach Pinto attributes recent patchy form to ‘bad luck’

Gor Mahia head coach Carlos Pinto has attributed their recent defeats in the Football Kenya Premier League to ‘bad luck’.

On Monday the defending champions bounced back to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 win against Bidco United and Pinto is confident they will continue with a good run.

K’Ogalo had lost two games back-to-back prior to Monday’s win,  losing  2-0 to KCB  and 1-0 to Posta Rangers.

“When we win it always gives us confidence for the next match, despite the losses in our previous matches the team was playing very well but bad luck was on our side but I’m pretty sure this win is the beginning of good things to come after the international break, “said Pinto.

Bidco United head coach Antony Akhulia has in the meantime said his team was completely dominated by the champions.

“In the second half Gor came back as a better team and they completely out played us. We have to reflect on that loss and improve in the areas  I felt there was some weakness in during these international break,”Akhulia told the press after the match.

Gor are now seventh on the standings with 22 points from 14 games while Bidco are ninth on the grid with 21 points from 16 games. The league take a break to allow the national team to compete in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers and the Gor Mahia tactician says it’s a chance to reflect on their previous performance and work on their areas of weakness.

“I have confidence in my players that the rhythm won’t be affected by the international break ahead, some of the players were tired because of playing week in week out so they will have the time to rest a bit and am hoping those who have gone on international break will carry the necessary experience back to the team that will add value to us,” Pinto concluded .
