Gor head to Hull City for familiarization tour after Goodison waterloo

After suffering a crushing 4-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park in a friendly match on Tuesday, Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia will on Wednesday head to Hull City FC to meet Hull players and officials.

Gor’s team manager Jolawi Obondo says the Hull visit is just a normal tour aimed at familiarizing themselves with the club that recently beat them on post match penalties at Kasarani Stadium on May 15.

“The sponsors are taking the boys to Hull City today and that will be the only day’s activity. We are not playing any other friendly here as was earlier anticipated,”said Obondo.

After yesterday’s defeat, the sponsors held a party for Gor Mahia contingent that was attended by amongst others club patron Raila Odinga, Senator James Orengo, Sports PS Kirimi Kaberia , Ronald  Karauri among other guests.

”The Everton story is now behind us and we are now focusing on the new season and the Caf-Champions league assignments,’’the long serving team manager told Citizen Digital.

The Caf Champions League , in which  Gor Mahia are Kenya’s representatives after winning the KPL title for a 17th time last season, will kick off next month and run through  to May 2019 to pave way for the African Cup of Nations finals to be held from June in Cameroon.

The Kenyan giants leave England on Friday evening at 8pm( Kenyan time)and are expected to land at the JKIA early Saturday morning.
