Gor held as Tusker sink Homeboyz in KPL

Nakumatt FC came from behind on two occasions to force a 2-2 draw with Gor Mahia FC as the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions failed to collect maximum points for the first time in eight matches.

Jacob Faina hit a late equalizer for Nakumatt as it ended all even at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Gor had taken the first half lead thanks to Ephrem Guikan’s 30th minute strike.

Forward Joseph Waithira levelled matters in the 64th before Boniface Omondi restored Gor’s lead eight minutes later but Nakumatt refused to lie down as Faina struck home the equalizer at the death.

Elsewhere Boniface Muchiri scored a brace as Tusker FC defeated Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

At the Chemelil Complex, the hosts needed an 86th minute goal to bag all the three points after a 1-0 victory over Vihiga United.

Edwin Omondi found the back of the net with only four minutes of regular time remaining to condemn United to a third successive loss.

Tusker FC now have 36 points whilst Chemelil have accumulated 27 points from 23 outings. Meanwhile Homeboyz, are enduring a rough patch, drawing the last two matches as they prepare to face runaway leaders Gor in their next assignment.
