Gor Mahia recorded a routine win on Saturday beating home-side Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 at the Mumias Complex to stretch their points tally at the apex of the Kenyan Premier League table to 73 as their coronation day inches closer.

K’Ogalo had already bagged the gong but are unrelenting in their quest for a good finish, guarding their lines to seal the win.Rwandan striker and club vice-skipper Jacques Tuyisenge scored the all- important goal to wrap up the proceedings.

At the Kisumu County Stadium, Western Stima boosted their survival chances after edging Posta Rangers 1-0 in a tough match.

Experienced Ezekiel Otuoma was the toast of the afternoon, scoring the all-important goal that hauled Stima’s points tally to 35, putting them level with 16th placed Thika United as the fight for survival now  heads to the final round-of matches.

It is close and agonising with no margin for error and all the relegation candidates- Stima, Mathare and Thika United- will have to put their best foot forward to survive the axe .

Meanwhile, at the Camp Toyoyo grounds, goal thirsty Masoud Juma rose from the bench to dismantle Nzoia Sugar as Kariobangi Sharks ran out 4-1 winners.

Juma bagged a brace to stretch his season’s league tally to 17, breaking clear of the chasing pack. His double act took his goals scored across all competitions to 22.

Duke Abuya was also on target with a brace to seal the emphatic victory as Patrick Kwintonda scored Nakumatt’s goal.

In Mombasa, Bandari FC edged Ulinzi Stars 1-0 to move to position nine .This is Ulinzi’s tenth match on the trot without victory, with their last win coming against Mathare in September.
Troubled Nakumatt FC were also 1-0 winners away at Sony Sugar, with Kepha Aswani notching his 13th strike of the season.They tie with Tuyisenge behind Masoud Juma on 17. The result is a huge boost to the retailers who are also battling to haul clear from the relegation dogfight.
